In the spirit of co-operation, co-operatives might reasonably expect a reduced fee. Natty Platy goes much further. Our passion for social justice, our drive towards creation of a truly inclusive society and our experience of the significant difference our work can make compels us to double our efforts to support the development of a strong co-operative sector. We aim to provide two trainers when training co-operatives with no increase in fee.

Here’s a reminder of why equality and diversity is so important to co-operatives:

The UK’s population is changing; e.g. within five years there will be more people over the age of 65 than under 16 years old. Women now make up nearly half the workforce; double the numbers of twenty five years ago. The number of people of working age will increase by a million in the next ten years over half of which will be from minority ethnic communities.

The attitudes, behaviour and processes of co-operatives must continue to evolve to meet the exciting opportunities and challenges population change creates. Any provider of services, employer or community based organisation failing to take account of these changes could fail.
